Glasgow Schools Football
The Exhibition celebrates the beneficial aspects of participation in schools football demonstrated by the long list of senior players of note, managers and celebrities who have ‘found their feet’ by turning out for the school team. Did you, your dad or even granddad play for the school? Come along and tell us about it and maybe just maybe we will have a photo of that side.
Frank Boyle - Cartoonist
Frank Boyle is the award-winning political cartoonist of the Edinburgh Evening News. Since 1999 his work has covered events at Holyrood, Westminister and beyond.
He was voted Cartoonist of the Year at the Scottish Press Awards in 2003 and 2006. In 2008 a major retrospective of his work was held at the City Art Centre in Edinburgh.
During this time he has also produced many football cartoons, mainly following the fluctuating fortunes of Hearts and Hibs but also of the Scotland team and other clubs. It is these cartoons which form the basis of this exhibition.
As a schoolboy in 1970 Frank produced a Stirling Albion fanzine, the Albion View, which is now on display in the Scottish Football Museum.
The cartoons on display are prints. If you would like to buy any of the original drawings please contact Frank at info@boylecartoon.co.uk
